The actress Iwa Wanja started her carreer since 1925 and played in some remarkable silent movies at that time.
Among them:
"Luxusweibchen" (25),
"Gern hab' ich die Frauen geküsst" (26),
"Kreuzzug des Weibes" (26),
"Die Abenteuer eines Zehnmarkscheines" (26),
"Wochenendzauber" (27),
"Das Spiel mit der Liebe" (28),
"Vom Täter fehlt jede Spur" (28) and
"Aus dem Tagebuch eines Junggesellen" (29).
When movies with sound came up she continued her carreer in the thirtees until the end of worldwar II. , including the quite successful movies:
"Der Zinker" (31),
"Zu neuen Ufern" (37) and
"Urlaub auf Ehrenwort" (38).
She began a second carreer as a singer at the same time.
After the war she had a short comeback as a movie-artist in:
"Es kommt ein Tag" (50),
"Käpt'n Bay-Bay" (52) and
"Ein Leben für Do" (54).
Iwa Wanja married the famous composer Norbert Schultze 1942.
Besides her activities as singer, actress and professional horse-rider with over 65 first prizes at international jump-compititions she started another carreer as an author. Among her works the skript for the first german musical 1952 “Käpt´n Bay Bay” and for the very successful tv-series “Jedermannstr.11”
